10-06-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

October 6, 2016
Jesus said, “And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”  Lk_11:5-13

If you ever had a bee fly into your mouth.  If you ever had a door slammed in your face.  If you ever had a job taken away, a spouse leave you, a house burned down, a child run away, a parent die, an accusation made in your innocence – then you tend not to ask or knock any more.  But Jesus doesn’t reference any of that in his parable.

Sometimes it take a little more than one knock.  Sometimes it takes a little more than just a bee to shut us up.  Keep up your persistence, beloved!  God will answer!  It just may take a little more death before that resurrection.  A little more explanation before that ascension.  Just know that God IS listening – and we are His “beloved!”
