10-14-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

October 14, 2016
Jesus said, “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body but after that can do no more.  I shall show you whom to fear.  Be afraid of the one who after killing has the power to cast into Gehenna; yes, I tell you, be afraid of that one.”  Lk_12:1-7

And how do we know when to fear ‘that one’?  Every time our consciences warn us what to do or not to do – that’s his pull in the other direction.  Every time our own guilt tells us that we shouldn’t have…, that’s his victory over us.  And every time we feel peace, we feel joy, we feel just – ‘Right’ in our souls, that’s our loss of fear, because we allowed the Spirit to guide and direct us closer to God and away from Satan’s death, his Gehenna.  Jesus shows us the way.  All we need do is follow!
