12-03-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

December 3, 2016
(St. Francis Xavier, Priest)
Jesus sent out these Twelve after instructing them thus, “Go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons.  Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.” Mt_9:35-10:1,5-8

What is it that we’ve received without cost, beloved?  Is it our talents, is it our life, is it our freedom of choice.  Funny, seems everything comes at a cost.  But just look at all God has given us at no cost.  Are we using those gifts for selfish gain, or are we using them as our Gifts (from God) to others.  Jesus wants us to give without counting the cost, because the Kingdom of heaven is freely available for everyone!
