12-07-16 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

(St. Ambrose, Bishop and Doctor of the Church)
They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength, they will soar as with eagles’ wings; They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint.   Is_40:25-31

Hope and Strength in the Lord!

Jesus said to the crowds: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” Mt_11:28-30

Today’s Scriptures are some of my favorites because they bring us so much Hope.  When we’re struggling with how to deal with illness; when we’re struggling with how to deal with people, or rules, or boredom or just life in general; that’s when we need to remember that we don’t have to struggle alone.

We have a God who cares.

We have a God who will give us the strength we need to endure those challenges, and even “soar with eagles wings” in overcoming them.

But we can’t do it alone.

And that’s why we yoke ourselves to Jesus.  Instead of letting the world and all it’s cold, uncaring messages of doom and gloom burden us into total depression, we instead, allow the Words of Jesus, both in the Scriptures, and through our good Christian companions (our Church) to lighten that load with HOPE.

Jesus shows us the way of eliminating fear.

Jesus shows us the way of acting with righteousness and integrity.

Jesus shows us the way to internal peace, regardless of what’s going on around us.

And Jesus leads us with LOVE.

When we attach ourselves to the yoke of the Love of Jesus, all of Life will become – not only bearable, but filled with His Joy!
