O Radiant Dawn, splendor of eternal light, sun of justice: come and shine on those who dwell in darkness and in the shadow of death. Alleluia verse
Thus says the Lord GOD: Lo, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me; And suddenly there will come to the temple the LORD whom you seek, And the messenger of the covenant whom you desire. Ml_3:1-4,23-24
In the tender compassion of our God the dawn from on high shall break upon us, to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace – Amen Office of Morning Prayer, conclusion of the Canticle of Zechariah or Benedictus (Luke 1:57-79)
Come O Radiant Dawn, as we await Your blessing, Lord Jesus. For, it’s not in the tree, though the tree is pretty. It’s not in the presents, though the gift giving is wonderful. It’s not in the music, though the sounds are soothing to our souls. It’s in the love. The love of family. The love of friends. The love of YOU Lord, in all you have given for us. No greater love is possible! Come into our hearts this Christmas, Jesus, as we love and worship and adore You!
