01-07-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

(St. Raymond of Penafort, Priest)
Beloved:  We have this confidence in God, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.  And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, we know that what we have asked him for is ours. 1_Jn_5:14-21

According to His will!  Never forget that part beloved.

. . the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.”  And Jesus said to her, “Woman, how does your concern affect me?  My hour has not yet come.”  His mother said to the servers, “Do whatever he tells you.” Jn_2:1-11

Or . . . Sometimes, it’s His Mother’s will!

And of course, we know the end of the story.  Jesus had the servers fill the containers with water and upon serving it, the water had become wine!  Thus, the Mother’s will was fulfilled!

Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs at Cana in Galilee
and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him.  ibid

Well, maybe Jesus wasn’t quite sure that it was His time yet.  And a gentle nudge by his Mother got the ball rolling.  John calls this Jesus’ first sign.  It was a sign of revelation!  Not the jumping up and down “look at me” kind of revelation.  But a message that was clear to His disciples.  This truly is someone to be reckoned with!  So stay tuned!
