01-17-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

January 17, 2017
(St. Anthony, Abbot)
. . . when God wanted to give the heirs of his promise an even clearer demonstration of the immutability of his purpose, he intervened with an oath, so that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge might be strongly encouraged to hold fast to the hope that lies before us.  This we have as an anchor of the soul,  Heb_6:10-20

The Hope that lies before us is the anchor for our soul.  And that Hope lies in our trust of God.  God’s purpose is immutable and irrefutable.  It is grounded in the two witnesses of His Promise and His Oath.  We have the Hope for everlasting life, beloved!  It’s God’s promise.  And all we have to do is Believe!

Immutable – unchanging over time or unable to be changed.
Irrefutable – impossible to deny or disprove.
