01-31-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

Januray 31, 2017
(St. John Bosco, Priest)
Having left the Gerasene Demoniac healed of his affliction, and the townsfolk angry at Jesus, He returned to the other side of the lake only to be surrounded by people who longed for His healing touch.  Among them was the father of a 12-year old child who had apparently died.  Jesus took the child by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise!”  The girl, a child of twelve, arose immediately and walked around.  Mk_5:21-43

When all the odds are against us.  When there seems to be no hope left.  When we can keep our faith even in those situations, Jesus will provide us with an answer.  It may be a healing.  It may be death and a better life ahead.  It just may be a sign of our strength and our faith to others through the suffering.  But whatever our course may be, beloved, if we can keep that faith in Jesus, we will be fulfilling God’s will, and in the end, we’ll find that it’s just the beginning!

Happy 31st to my awesome daughter, Christie!
