02-01-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

February 1, 2017
Jesus said, “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house.”  So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there, apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them.  He was amazed at their lack of faith.   Mk_6:1-6

So, as Jesus began His ministry, His mission, in this backwater land of Galilee, He would find both people who sought after Him and others who would reject Him.  It was a real roller coaster ride.  Kind of like starting your own business.  There are the skeptics, there are the devoted fans, and then there are those who outright reject you and fight against your succeeding.  Faith means keeping on, despite the tough times.  Jesus couldn’t help anyone unless they had the faith to believe He could.  And when they did, all kinds of “miracles” would happen.  What kind of miracle are you looking for, beloved?  And then, how strong is your faith, to allow it to actually occur?  Jesus is calling us to Have Faith!
