05-11-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

May 11, 2017
Jesus said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him.” . . .  “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me.”  Jn_13:16-20

In the secular world, this is the way corporations and governments SHOULD work.  You do your best so that your boss may look good to his superiors.  And he leads and supports you so that you have all the tools and know-how to do your best for him.  And when your boss looks good to his superiors, it is not only good for him and you, but it is good for the company in general.

Jesus is showing us that same link in our following His messengers, who have been called to be our leaders in the faith.  When we do that, we are not only receiving their support, but we are receiving His and God our Father’s support as well.  And with their support, there is nothing we will not be able to accomplish.

Our faith, that entwining link between the Holy Trinity, the apostles and us – is Love!
