(Our Lady of Fatima)
On the following sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and with violent abuse contradicted what Paul said. Both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first, but since you reject it and condemn yourselves as unworthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. For so the Lord has commanded us, ‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles, that you may be an instrument of salvation to the ends of the earth.'” Acts_13:44-52
Isn’t it the way of the world? Isn’t it the way of humanity? Isn’t it the way of immature little children: the jealousy, the hatred, the spitefulness? Yes, the Jewish leaders were jealous, because what they sought was the glory and the fame and the crowds to follow them – NOT God!
The whole point of Jesus’ incarnation was to bring people back to God again. If we’re looking for the fame, the glory and the riches all for ourselves, beloved, then we’ve missed the point too. The point is, that everything we do and have and are, IS for the Glory of God. Bring others to Jesus, beloved, and God will see to it that we are taken care of as well, because it is for His glory that we’re even here!
Blessed be God forever!
