05-28-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

May 28, 2017
(7th Sunday of Easter A)
– since we did the Ascension on Ascension Thursday –
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you, just as you gave him authority over all people, so that your son may give eternal life to all you gave him.
Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
Jn_17:1-11a

So, what is heaven?  And what does eternal life mean?
Jesus gives us the answer today.

It’s all about knowing our God:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

And how do we do that?
Well, we can follow Jesus through the Gospels.
And as the apostles did after the Ascension of Jesus . . .

After Jesus had been taken up to heaven the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day’s journey away.  When they entered the city they went to the upper room where they were staying . . . and devoted themselves with one accord to prayer,   Acts_1:12-14

PRAY!
