(St. Teresa of the Andes)
Jesus said to his disciples as He was sending them off on their first missionary trip, “As you enter a house, wish it peace. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; if not, let your peace return to you.” Mt_10:7-15
This truly was a giving of themselves to those they would accept them with hospitality. And when they were not accepted, it was not a call to get angry or to get back. Jesus said, “let your peace return to you.” End it in peace!!!!
How well can we keep the peace in ourselves, beloved? Don’t allow any evil to steal your peace. It’s not worth it. When we can learn to keep the peace, to offer the peace and to bounce back when it’s not accepted, that’s when we’re living that Kingdom of God that Jesus promised!
A most blessed and peace-filled birthday prayer
for our son, Fr. James today.
