08-06-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

(The Transfiguration of the Lord)
. . . behold, a bright cloud cast a shadow over them, then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” Mt_17:1-9

The Cloud, the Voice, the Message.   There is obviously something supernatural going on here!  This is not just another guy trying to puff himself up.  This was definitive proof that Jesus IS much more than just another guy.  This is the Son of God.  The second Person of the Holy Trinity.  There is nothing false in Him.

When we hear something extraordinary, beloved, do we just ignore it?  When we see something beyond normal occurrence, do we pass it off as insignificant?  No!  We listen with undivided attention, we watch with laser-like focus.   Jesus IS worth every ounce of our attention – as much as our very lives!  God our Father commands us – LISTEN to Him!

Today is the birthday of the second greatest love of my life (besides Jesus), my beloved wife Mary Ann.  With all my heart and soul, I give thanks to God for uniting us.  And I give thanks to Mary Ann for bearing with me all these eons!  Happy Birthday Honey!
