08-07-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

August 7, 2017
(St. Sixtus and companions, Pope and Martyrs)
Moses said to the LORD, “I cannot carry all this people by myself, for they are too heavy for me.”  Nm_11:4b-15

We can not rely upon ourselves for the salvation of humanity, beloved.  Only in the Lord is salvation.  And it’s up to each individual to make that decision to believe or not.  All we can do is lead them to Him.

When it was evening, the disciples approached him (Jesus) and said, “This is a deserted place and it is already late; dismiss the crowds so that they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.” He said to them, “There is no need for them to go away; give them some food yourselves.”  Mt_14:13-21

And feed them they did, but only with the help of Jesus.

When we get to feeling like we just can’t carry that burden any longer, beloved, then turn to the Lord and He will feed us.  He will strengthen us.  And He will guide us to complete all that is asked of us, even what we think may be impossible.  Faith!  All it takes is Faith!
