08-14-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

August 14, 2017
(St. Maximilian Kolbe, Priest and Martyr)
The Temple tax collectors were challenging Peter about whether or not Jesus paid the tax.  Jesus told Peter to “go to the sea, drop in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up.  Open its mouth and you will find a coin worth twice the temple tax. Give that to them for me and for you.”   Mt_17:22-27

Jesus will keep us afloat, beloved!  Whether its walking on water, believing in His resurrection or paying those taxes.  But just to prove how trivial those tax payments should be relative to the more important things, like living His Kingdom, like eternal life, Jesus showed his disciples that payment could be found in even the most unlikely of places.  With faith in Him.  With creative finances.  With lives dedicated to the Love of God and the Love of neighbor, we WILL be provided for, in even the most dire of circumstances!

Trust in Jesus!
