(The Passion of St. John the Baptist)
St. Paul boldly wrote, You yourselves know, brothers and sisters, that our reception among you was not without effect. Rather, after we had suffered and been insolently treated, as you know, in Philippi, we drew courage through our God to speak to you the Gospel of God with much struggle. 1_Thes_2:1-8
Neither was John the Baptist shy about proclaiming that Gospel Truth without much struggle. Just like Jesus he was tested and ridiculed by the Pharisees and the Romans. And just like Jesus he was killed for his faith. How much are we willing to suffer for the sake of bringing God’s message of Love to others, beloved? Sometimes it might really hurt. But God will give us the strength to endure, even death, in order to continue to build His Kingdom, in order to save others. John the Baptist and Jesus are our models!
