12-14-17 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

December 14, 2017
(St. John of the Cross, Priest and Doctor of the Church)
Jesus said to the crowds: “Amen, I say to you, among those born of women there has been none greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he.  Mt_11:11-15

Jesus highly respected John the Baptist.  He called him God’s messenger or Elijah who brought the message of His coming into the world.  And yet it’s not the messenger who saves us.  It is Jesus himself!  When we listen to the message.  When we believe in Jesus, beloved, He will raise us above all who came before, so that His Kingdom may be ours as well.  It’s a message well worth listening to!
