01-01-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

January 1, 2018
(Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God)
What more beautiful way to begin a new year than with a blessing.  The LORD said to Moses: “Speak to Aaron and his sons and tell them: This is how you shall bless the Israelites.  Say to them:
The LORD bless you and keep you!
The LORD let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!
The LORD look upon you kindly and give you peace!
So shall they invoke my name upon the Israelites, and I will bless them.”   Nm_6:22-27

And not only were the Israelites blessed by the LORD’s presence, but ALL of us were, in and through the blessings of Mary, and by the presence of Jesus, our Lord, among us.

After the shepherds announced all they had seen and heard from the angels about the birth of Jesus that was all, exactly, as it happened . . . Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.  Lk_2:16-21

No better scrap album than the very pages of our own hearts.  Even when they may be pierced by the silliness of the world, all of those GOOD things remain.  God wants us to focus our attention on them, and one day all the silliness will be washed away and all that will remain will be the GOOD!

We have been so very blessed, beloved!   Sometimes in the midst of all our struggles, we just need to remember the Blessings we HAVE received!

Blessed be God forever!

And a very happy and blessed New Year to you!
