02-25-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

February 25, 2018
(Second Sunday of Lent, B)
the LORD’s messenger called to Abraham from heaven and said: “I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you acted as you did in not withholding from me your beloved son, I will bless you abundantly and make your descendants as countless as the stars of the sky and the sands of the seashore; your descendants shall take possession of the gates of their enemies, and in your descendants all the nations of the earth shall find blessing – all this because you obeyed my command.”  Gn_22:1-2,9a,10-13,15-18

In the descendants of Abraham WE find blessing!  We find salvation and the forgiveness of our sins, through Jesus, a descendant of Abraham, a Jew.  And like Abraham, and like Jesus we learn obedience to God’s will – Love!  When we can obediently love, even when hatred and anger and jealousy and rebellion are tugging at our heart-strings, then we WILL find the blessing given to us through Abraham and his descendants.  God’s love is there for us, beloved.  All we need do is open our hearts to find it.  Jesus is the way, and the Truth, and the life.  Follow Him!
