The people were so angry at Jesus that: They rose up, drove him out of the town, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their town had been built, to hurl him down headlong. But he passed through the midst of them and went away. Lk_4:24-30
Did you ever see someone, beloved, who was so fiercely angry, so in rage that they even forgot who they were angry with? It’s called blind rage. It can engulf us, if we let it, and just gobble us up! It is the epitome of evil.
Yesterday God gave His people, the Israelites, the guidelines for avoiding evil in all its forms. We call them the Ten Commandments. Today we can see the blinding force of that evil and how pure love can escape right through the midst of it.
If we can keep Jesus and love in the forefront of our thoughts and actions, beloved, we too can walk right through the midst of any evil that comes our way. NO, it’s not easy, but with Jesus at our side, we CAN do all things, even this!
