(St. John of God, Religious)
Jesus said, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”  Lk_11:14-23

Jesus came to gather His faithful together.  But not all came.  And not all believed His words.  There were the oblivious.  There were the obstinate.  There were the skeptics.  Sometimes the gathering took a little more work.  And sometimes it just seemed hopeless.  But He never gave up on anyone.  And neither should we, beloved.  We are called to do our very best at gathering.  But when it doesn’t seem possible, leave it in God’s hands and God who knows all things will see it to its optimal climax.  But we are never to do anything that would scatter His faithful.  We can scatter the seed of His love,  but never discourage a believer or even a prospect from the hope of God’s love.  There is always hope.  Pray for them!  Pray for us, beloved!
