04-16-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

April 16, 2018
Jesus said to the people, “Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.  For on him the Father, God, has set his seal.” So they said to him, “What can we do to accomplish the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent.”  Jn_6:22-29

Before we can ride on that coveted roller coaster, we have to buy a ticket.  But the ride only lasts a few minutes and then it’s all over.  Before we can enter the kingdom of God we have to believe in Jesus.  Jesus is our ticket.  He is our ride.  He is our life.  But this new life, this kingdom is not over in just a few minutes – it can last for eternity.  Jesus tells us today, not to work for a ticket that will not last.  If there’s anything in this life we should be working for, it’s a steadfast belief in Jesus.  He will not only get us in.  But He will stay with us forever.  And that’s a ride worth working for!
