05-29-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

May 29, 2018
Peter began to say to Jesus, “We have given up everything and followed you.” Jesus said, “Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age…”   Mk_10:28-31

“for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel…”  What have we given up, beloved, for the sake of Jesus?  Maybe it was as simple as an extra hour of sleep in order to go to an early Mass.  Maybe it was as mediocre as skipping a meal or stopping to feed a hungry street beggar with a couple of quarters.  Maybe it was as difficult as losing a child or a parent because of your faith.  Jesus promises that whatever our loss is, FOR HIS SAKE, we will be compensated in the age to come (and even now) with much much more and much much better.  Hang in there beloved, the best is yet to come!
