(11th Sunday Ordinary Time, B)
Brothers and sisters: We are always courageous, although we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. 2_Cor_5:6-10
Jesus said to the crowds: “This is how it is with the kingdom of God; it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land and would sleep and rise night and day and through it all the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how.” Mk_4:26-34
Well, since the time of Jesus, we’ve learned a lot more about how plants grow, about what makes them grow better and how to nourish and protect them from disease and predators. But their actual germination and growth may still be a bit of a mystery to some. And some things we just have to place in the hands of faith, in the hands of God. Sometimes as hard as we try, all our efforts lead to disaster. And sometimes, with the least bit of our effort, everything works better than we could have even imagined. FAITH! The trick is, to remember that everything is in God’s hands. We just need to learn the best way to work with Him and the best way to deal with the uncontrollable.
And place even that in His Hands!
