06-24-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

June 24, 2018
(Nativity of St. John the Baptist)
Hear me, O coastlands, listen, O distant peoples.  The LORD called me from birth, from my mother’s womb he gave me my name. . . .  You are my servant, he said to me, . . . and I am made glorious in the sight of the LORD, and my God is now my strength! . . .  To me He said, “I will make you a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”  Is_49:1-6

Lighthouse in Storm — Image by © John Lund/Corbis

Out from the darkness of storm and sea,
the lighthouse is there to comfort and lead me.
If I trust in Him both now and here,
He will assuredly replace my fear,
with a strength that only in Him could I bear.
He is my light and my salvation.
He is the sweetness of all Creation.
Within my heart will He place His light,
that I may make His world ever bright.
So come to Jesus my brethren dear,
that you may join in His LOVE,
(and His JOY, and His Hope)
OH so near!
