Jesus said, “How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’ while the wooden beam is in your eye? You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.” Mt_7:1-5
In one way or another, beloved, we all have splinters in our eyes. They may be toothpicks or they may be two-by-fours. But the point is that we should not be judging anyone harshly, and especially for those things they may not even realize.
Yes, we may lovingly correct – when the time is right and in a way that doesn’t harm their integrity. The key is “lovingly!” And sometimes we just have to deal with our own perfectionism, knowing that in our very next breath we just may make the same mistake they did, the same mistake we’re blaming them for!
Thanks be to the Holy Spirit for giving us His PATIENCE, and understanding, in LOVE!
