06-26-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

June 26, 2018
Jesus said to His disciples, “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you.  This is the Law and the Prophets.

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.”   Mt_7:6,12-14

Notice, Jesus didn’t say, Do to others whatever evil they did to you.  He didn’t say, What’s good for the gander is good for the goose.  He didn’t say, Revenge is sweet.

What He DID say, is GIVE whatever you would hope to get.  And expect that, in reality, you may not really get it.  But then, instead of having given the evil that we would never want upon ourselves, we would have given the very best of what God would expect us to give.

While the world (and especially many liberal radicals in our own country – and those lost in following them) are yelling and screaming their venom of hatred and spreading lies to create hatred, WE are offering LOVE.  We are offering TRUTH and REASON.  We are loving and praying for their lost souls, even while, as Jesus warns His disciples, we are not giving . . . “what is holy to dogs, or throw(ing) your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces”  ibid.  We are not stupid.  But we are loving, just as Jesus taught us! (A broad brush with sharp edges.)

And yet, we fully understand that what we are trying to BE is NOT easy!  It is a “narrow gate” that we’re striving to enter!  But we have Jesus as our guide, the Holy Spirit as our strength and one another as our support system.  Be strong beloved and never let go of Jesus!  He will never let go of YOU!
