08-31-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

August 31, 2018
“the world did not come to know God through wisdom, it was the will of God through the foolishness of the proclamation to save those who have faith.”  For . . .
The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1_Cor_1:17-25

So the question is, beloved, do we have the faith to truly believe that the Cross of Christ was not a silly loss, was not the failure of a weak man, but the triumphant success of our God to offer us life over death, hope over hopelessness, and salvation for all eternity?

Only through the boundless Love of our God is this possible.  Love bold enough to succumb to the lowliness of human nature in order to show us the love that already exists within us.  Love to save rather than kill, love to help rather than hurt, love to forgive even the unforgivable.  There is the wisdom of God.  There is the wisdom of redemption.  There is our Lord and Savior Jesus.  And there is our hope.
