(St. Denis, Bishop and Companions, Martyrs)
(St. John Leonardi, Priest)
St. Paul wrote “I was unknown personally to the churches of Judea that are in Christ; they only kept hearing that “the one who once was persecuting us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.” So they glorified God because of me. Gal_1:13-24
Ever know someone who has undergone a total conversion to the Lord, beloved? It’s quite awesome to see a person go from hatred to love, from persecutor to evangelist. And then it’s even more awesome to witness the change within ourselves. A change from disapproval to acceptance. How could we possibly love a person who was persecuting us? This is equally the work of God. God wants all of us to have a change of heart to Him. And He will do everything in His power to bring it about. But He will never force that decision upon us – It’s always our own free will choice – to follow the will of God.
After complaining to Jesus about her overworked condition, Jesus responded to Martha, saying, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing.” Lk_10:38-42 . . .
If we can escape comparisons, prejudice and selfishness, if we can learn to see Jesus within others, if we can truly learn to Love God with all our heart, mind and soul, beloved, we’ll discover that there really is ONLY ONE THING NEEDED . . .
