10-11-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

October 11, 2018
(St. John XXIII, Pope)
Jesus said, “And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. . . . What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish?  Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg?  If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”  Lk_11:5-13

As Jesus’ follow-up to the Lord’s Prayer in Luke’s Gospel He spoke of Petition to God with a parable and a moral!  And it’s all about God’s love for us!  According to His WILL, God will provide whatever we need.  Of course, if we’re asking for something totally trivial which may waste good money or be potentially harmful to us or others – we just might not get it.  And if we’re asking for a miraculous life or healing – we may or may not get it, depending on what God’s will is for us.  But either way, when we learn to be thankful for ALL we have, or don’t have, all we suffer or our great health, God will reward us, if not in this life, in the life to come!  Praise be to God for His great love for us!!!
