(Our Lady of the Pillar)
In speaking about Faith and the (Jewish) Law, St. Paul wrote: “all who depend on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, ‘Cursed be everyone who does not persevere in doing all the things written in the book of the law.’ (Dt_27:26) . . . Christ ransomed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written, ‘Cursed be everyone who hangs on a tree,’ (Dt_21:23) that the blessing of Abraham might be extended to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” Gal_3:7-14
If we become a “lawyer” we live by the law and for the law. But if we become a faithful, lover of Jesus, we live by faith and for the Lord. And that faith will save us! For from that faith we live by love, from which all the laws are derived!
