10-28-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

October 28, 2018
(30th Sunday Ordinary Time, B)
After curing blind Bartimaeus, Jesus told him, “Go your way; your faith has saved you.”  Immediately he received his sight and followed him on the way.  Mk_10:46-52

Bartimaeus’ “way” turned out to be the same “way” Jesus was going.  But it wasn’t for his own gain that Bart was going that way.  Bart had enough faith to believe that Jesus was the promised Messiah the Scriptures spoke of.  Enough faith to believe that Jesus could heal his blindness.  And in receiving his sight, Bart had now given his entire life to Jesus.  And that meant whatever way Jesus went, Bartimaeus would go too.  How much faith do we hold in our hearts, beloved?  Is it enough to give up our past and follow Jesus, wherever He leads us?  This is what we’re called to do, beloved.  And this is our salvation!
