11-05-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

November 5, 2018
O LORD, my heart is not proud, nor are my eyes haughty; I busy not myself with great things, nor with things too sublime for me.  Nay rather, I have stilled and quieted my soul like a weaned child. Like a weaned child on its mother’s lap, so is my soul within me.  R. In you, O Lord, I have found my peace.  Ps_131

OH how we search and long for the peace that can only be found in God!  And yet how far have we placed our God from us.  Our jobs, all our meaningless tasks, our misfortunes, our broken relationships, our loneliness, our fear, they all distance us from the One who has the power to comfort, to heal us.  Let us, today, beloved, wean ourselves from all those distractions.  Let us sit in the lap of our Lord and just sigh for the peace He brings without our even asking.

“In You, O Lord, I have found my peace!”
