(St. Leo the Great, Pope and Doctor of the Church)
St. Paul wrote, “I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me.” Phil_4:10-19
Jesus said, “No servant can serve two masters. He will either hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all these things and sneered at him. And he said to them, “You justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts; for what is of human esteem is an abomination in the sight of God.” Lk_16:9-15
The strength to believe in what we ought. The strength to devote our lives to an unseen God instead of temporary wealth and glory. The strength to persevere despite persecution, hatred, and all the lack of love this world has to offer – all for the eternal Glory of God’s love. That’s worth relying on, beloved. That’s our Jesus!
