11-20-18 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

November 20, 2018
And Jesus said to him (Zacchaeus the tax collector), “Today salvation has come to this house because this man too is a descendant of Abraham.  For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save what was lost.”  Lk_19:1-10

While the angels of the Revelation to John were praising and warning the early Churches of their strong points and their weaknesses, they were also calling them to repentance.  As we near the end of our Church calendar, we too should be scouring our souls for our strong points in the faith and our weaknesses.

The story of Zacchaeus shows us a beautiful example of conversion and repentance.  Maybe like Zacchaeus, we’ve developed some habits that we really shouldn’t be involved in.  Maybe we’ve lost our zeal, like the Church of Ephesus in yesterday’s reflection.  Maybe we just need to bump up a lackadaisical faith life.  Jesus is calling us to repent!  And in the process He will save whatever is in us – that might be “lost.”

And there’s our hope!
