02-28-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

February 28, 2019
Jesus said, “If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off.  It is better for you to enter into life maimed than with two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire.” Mk_9:41-50

You see, beloved, the point was that there is something much much worse than our miserable little pains.  There’s something much longer in duration than a little burn.  And there’s something much more worth being good over than a fairy tale concept of heaven or an avoidance of hell.  Eternal life with God is so much more than we can even imagine.  And to achieve it, all it takes is a lot of faith.  And that’s exactly why Jesus is here to help us.
