03-16-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

March 16, 2019
Jesus said to his disciples:
“You have heard that it was said,
‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’
But I say to you, love your enemies,
and pray for those who persecute you,
that you may be children of your heavenly Father,
for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good,
and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust.  Mt_5:43-48

We pray, O Lord, that You make this possible for us.  For we are not capable, in our weak humanity, to do such an impossible thing.  Yes, we witnessed Jesus praying for those who mistreated, abused and executed Him.  We can do that, but love them??  Only the Holy Spirit within us can make that possible.  Help us to let go of our own emotions, our humanity, and love as You have loved!
