05-24-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

May 24, 2019
Jesus said, “It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another.”  Jn_15:12-17

Can we profess that same statement, beloved, to our own children?  Whether we were good or bad parents, those children did not choose us.  But hopefully, as good parents, we are unreservedly bound to give them whatever they ask of us.  Jesus didn’t put a lot of pressure on us with tons of commandments.  All he asked of us was and is – to love one another.  And in doing that we are bearing the fruit we were sent to bear.  And that’s the “fruit” that will remain.   Love, grown and shared – from God our Father, to Jesus our brother, to us God’s children, to our own children, to the world!  Oh what a beautiful inheritance!

Happy Birthday Gina, in all of God’s and my love!
You are one of my favorite Saints!
