06-04-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

June 4, 2019
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come.” . . .  “Now this is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.” . . .  “I revealed your name to those whom you gave me out of the world.  They belonged to you, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything you gave me is from you, because the words you gave to me I have given to them, and they accepted them and truly understood that I came from you, and they have believed that you sent me. I pray for them.”  Jn_17:1-11a

If ever there was a love letter, this 17th Chapter of John, in Jesus’ passionate discourse to His Father, just prior to His arrest and passion, is the most magnificent!  For in it we see the most extraordinary love of Son for Father, of Master for disciples, of God for all living Creation.  And in it we also see the answer to our Faith.  Eternal life is knowing God!  And we know God when we truly get to know Jesus.  His Words bring us life and light and hope.  Trust in Him, beloved.  And know that He is with us always!
