06-08-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

June 8, 2019
St. John the evangelist wrote, “There are also many other things that Jesus did, but if these were to be described individually, I do not think the whole world would contain the books that would be written.”  Jn_21:20-25

And our closest references to the actual events that occurred during Jesus’ short tenure here with us are right there in those four books we call the Gospels.  Volumes and libraries have been published based upon our interpretations of those writings.  And from them, men an women throughout the ages have devoted their lives in love with this man we call our God.

And why would we not!  Jesus taught us the meaning of love.  Jesus taught us the meaning of hope.  And He offered His life to reunite us with God our Father.  Unlike any earthly hero, Jesus didn’t abandon us to photos and stories.  Jesus came back Himself as the Holy Spirit to tug on our hearts, to continue to teach and guide and love us all the way back to our heavenly home.  All we need do, beloved, is make that simple choice to believe and trust in Him.  And God will handle the rest!
