Jesus told His disciples to pray saying, “. . . forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us;. . .” He continued, “If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions.” Mt_6:7-15
Sounds like a living mirror, beloved, doesn’t it? The me I see looking back at me is as if God were looking at me. And what does He see? And the me I see is also me looking back at me, along with every other person who sees me as well. Am I worthy to be looked at by others? Am I worthy to be looked at by God? Or is there some unforgiveness in me that God and everyone else can see? The next time we look in that mirror, beloved, what do WE see? And if it’s through the glass darkly, or through a mask glumly, what can we do about it! Jesus can help!
