06-29-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

June 29, 2019
(Ss. Peter and Paul, Apostles)
Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”  Mt_16:13-19

And who do YOU say that Jesus is, beloved?  Is He a distant historical figure?  Is He a far away God, only approached when we’re in dire need?  Or is He a best friend?  The one we talk to on the way home from work.  The One we love with all our heart and soul.  The big brother who knows a whole lot more than we will ever know, and has all the answers – IF we just ask.  Ponder Jesus, beloved, as often as you can in  your day.  Speak with Him and love Him.  And remember, if it wasn’t for the Apostles and evangelists, we would never know Him as well as we do today.  And now it’s up to us to point the way to Him for others.  The Apostles will show us how!  And our hearts will teach us why!
