07-11-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

July 11, 2019
(St. Benedict, Abbot)
“Come closer to me,” he (Joseph) told his brothers.  When they had done so, he said: “I am your brother Joseph, whom you once sold into Egypt. But now do not be distressed, and do not reproach yourselves for having sold me here.  It was really for the sake of saving lives that God sent me here ahead of you.”  Gn_44:18-21,23b-29;45:1-5

St. Paul said, “We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.”  Rom_8:28

Sometimes, beloved, in the circumstance, we may not see it yet.  Sometimes it takes passing through the tunnel to reach the paradise on the other side.  Sometimes we may never see that other side, at least in this life.  But every good we do, every love we share, every help we offer has an impact toward building God’s kingdom.  Know this: that God’s will – WILL be done, whether we cooperate with it or not.  So we might as well follow!  In in that following we will receive “our reward,” as Jesus tells us.  And it will be a thousand times more than we ever gave!

Happy 7-11!
