(Pope St. Sixtus and Deacons, Martyrs)
. . A Canaanite woman of that district came and called out, “Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon.” After her continuous pleading, Jesus said in reply, “It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters.” Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” Mt_15:21-28
Sometimes beloved, it takes a little persistence for us to see our prayers through. Sometimes it’s not our will but God’s will. And we have to learn to accept that. But, at other times we just need to be a little patient, a little enduring and very persistent in what we would like to see done for the building of God’s kingdom. And that is always His will!
