08-31-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

August 31, 2019
Jesus told a parable about appropriate use of our God-given talents.  If they are used for selfish gain, they will diminish.  And if they are squandered or hidden out of fear, they will be taken away.  But, if they are used for the good of helping others, they will grow.  And God’s response to us will be something like this: ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant.  Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities. Come, share your master’s joy.’  Mt 25:14-30

Unfortunately, this is not how life in our society always works, today.  There is suspicion, competition, selection, judgment, ingratitude, jealousies, hatreds and greed that all give us cause to not even want to try.  Because when we do, it’s often just more rejection.  And finding a good place to share those talents may feel like finding a needle in a haystack.  Just don’t give up, beloved, for God sees all and knows all.  And every ounce of effort will someday lead to a pound of JOY in our eternal life with Jesus.

A very blessed and happy end of August, beloved.
And a heartfelt THANK YOU for all YOU do for the world around you!  God KNOWS!
