12-14-19 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

December 14, 2019
(St. John of the Cross, Priest and Doctor of the Church)
Blessed is he who shall have seen you and who falls asleep in your friendship. Sir_48:1-4,9-11

And to see God is to let go of seeing anything else, including our own passions and pains.  Sometimes, beloved those pains are there to open our eyes to God’s friendship and not to give us cause to blame Him or abandon Him.  God wants all our love.  Not just a little piece on Sundays, not just in those times of pain or pleasure, but all the time.  John of the Cross, John the Baptist, John the Evangelist and Jesus call us to follow the narrow path, the path without distractions.  Doing that is our best road to God’s friendship, our best road to heaven!
