04-01-20 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

April 1, 2020
Jesus answered the rebellious Pharisees, (who insisted that they were children of Abraham, and that their God was the God of Abraham), saying,  “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and am here; I did not come on my own, but he sent me.”   Jn_8:31-42

Jesus could not have been more verbally clear about who He was.  Beyond the miracles, beyond His command of nature, beyond the love Jesus showed to everyone to prove His divinity, Jesus was totally transparent to the Pharisees.  And yet none of that really mattered to them, because all they wanted was their own power.  Not God, not His Son, Jesus, none besides themselves.

Lord, Jesus, when Your Holy Spirit dwells within us, we can clearly see the hypocrisy of so much of the world.  Please give us Your wisdom to know how to deal with it.  Please give us the strength to endure it, even unto death.  Please help us to BE You in a world that needs You so much.  And please, help us to ALWAYS remember that You are with us every moment of our day, with every breath we take, and in total love and commitment to YOU!
