Jesus said to the unbelieving Pharisees, “Just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.” Mt_12:38-42
Three days and three nights. Just enough time for a total transformation! Jonah was converted from a fearful runaway to a zealous messenger of God. Peter was converted from a fearful denier of the Lord to a proclaimer of the Gospel. Jesus not only overcame death and freed the souls of the dead, but He brought us the hope of resurrection and eternal life. Three days! That’s all it takes, beloved. Believe!
