02-10-24 Catholic Daily Mass Quotes

(St. Scholastica, Virgin)
From a mere seven loaves of bread and a few fish, Jesus, said the blessing over them and ordered them distributed also. They ate and were satisfied. They picked up the fragments left over–seven baskets. There were about four thousand people.  Mk_8:1-10

A second time, according to Mark, Jesus fed a huge multitude of people from just a few loaves and fish.  Just makes us wonder, why the disciples didn’t already know what was to come.  If they had already seen Jesus multiply the loaves and fish in another location, why didn’t they immediately know the same could happen a second time.  Sometimes, we’re just blinded by the miracles all around us, beloved.  Do we recognize them?  Does it take multiple times for us to finally believe?  Maybe it’s time to open our eyes and hearts to God’s grace all around us.  And just stop worrying!
